What we are looking at here is a male pomegranate flower. It is the only flower on this bush. I have a second bush as well that started flowering, we’ll see what type it is a bit. Pomegranate shrub needs both male and female flowers to set fruits and is a self-pollinating plant. Although Pomegranate fruit takes quite a few months to set and mature, it’s still fascinating to watch the flower stages.
This pomegranate bush was grown from seed and is about 3 years old.
