Okay. This Watermelon woke up this morning and it’s monologue went as follows: “Girl Look at That Body, Girl Look at that body…” and the rest in history. I have planted five watermelon seeds total and 4 of them have some darn Watermelony character and going out of control and guess what.. I let it. Cause beauty is hard to contain anyway.

They call it the Agapostemon Sweet Bee. I’ve never seen it before. Some amazing metallic green coloring of the body. Thanks for pollinating it girl! Well it’s funny actually, cause right before taking this shot I snapped off the male flower to hand-pollinate this flower. At least the bee doesn’t know our secret. Back to work metallic beast!

Before I go on about other green things in the GIP I will brag a bit. Check out these ambience lights. If you find yourself lost in the garden late at night like myself, let these lights light up your path. The only reason I went with Brightech is I support everything solar and support companies that make such products. Here is the link https://amzn.to/31rsppE

My oldest Meyer Lemon Tree grown from seed is making a second attempt at flowering this year. And maybe just MAYBE it will fruit.

This bell pepper plant is consistently playing a hide-and-seek with me. See if you can find the fruit. First year fruiting, I’ll let these ones mature.

August Heat hit the fan and my Sweet Basil plants went nuts with the flowering frenzy. Check this out. If you need some basil seeds, drop me a line.

Dog roses are native to Europe and considered as wild rose species.

And like always, nothing is perfect. But this Banana Shrub is perfectly imperfect. It’s going through some depression, cause why not?!
After being involved in some long shipping process it shed all it’s leaves and I will consider what you see above a success! I’d suggest that it’s slowly coming back after some soil amendments applied. Specifically, Epsom Salt, Azomite Rock Dust and some vital Micros. For Micro Nutrients Amendments I’d recommend Whole Gardener Brand. Check out their website too, they have tons of great soil amendments.

Okay, I planted this small ginger piece in a small pot (possibly 3-4 gallons) along with a Kumquat Seed. They learned to coexist and so far Ginger decided that this small pot is something that it can work with. It receives about 3 hours of sun each day. If you look hard enough you may see kawquat just a bit to the right. YES, like I mentioned before “hide-and-seek” is the new norm.
Young pistachio is growing stronger.
You eat what you feed your plants. Don’t you need Calcium? Yes, that’s right!
Check out this guy, it will need a friend later on to produce some nuts. For now, follow the blog and watch it enjoy it’s childhood.

Sun, Well drained soil and lots of Calcium is what I need.
Pistachio.
LET’S TALK WINE!
WELL, almost.
Even if you have a small space, say, a sunny balcony where you can put a 10-15 gallon fabric pot (fabric for good air circulation) you want to TRAIN your grapevine regardless. Otherwise, it’s gonna go dancing onto your neighbors porch, like a bunch of bulldog puppies left alone to get rid of that old couch. (or new and YES, I am that neighbor).
Do you your best to copy what they do in Vineyards, even if it means tying a simple string to a random nail in the wall. It facilitates a better sun exposure which in return will lead to some fruit production in the future.

Like everything in this garden, this grapevine has a story, but later on that. Notice a galvanized wire to the right. It will be trained to grow along that wire. Then it will be trimmed each year to thicken the main stem.
I think You see what I see.

When I take pictures in the garden, she wants to be right there in the process, as if she knows what camera is. Lily starts meowing and is one kind of a model. She tells me when and where. NO games there. Love you Lily.
