The beginnings..

I think it’s safe to assume it’s Spring California, in our garden at least. My Pomegranate Trees are showing the new leaves and it’s day 15 since I last posted an update on the Armed Forces (“hyacinth”) flowers. Story behind the name.

If you need a refresher on what an addiction looks like, no worries I have you covered. Mine began with not caring once for looking in the direction of these plants whenever I passed a stand and grew into an OCD of collecting every variety out there or so it seems. Must be something about their tiny delicate flowers.

BE AWARE! Here come the

SUCCULENTS

again…

Mimicry Plant or Aloinopsis Schooneesii
Again, the wrong name! Call it the “CAT PAWS”.

Growing new succulents, mimicry plant and Panda Plant, Kalanchoe. Succulents flowering

Cat Paws
When you touch the leaves they feel like the metacarpal pad (yes, I looked that one up) of the cat paw, you know, that leather part. That’s right, get yourself some cat paws plants is all I’m saying. You see how the leaves even have the visible pores. Nature is amazing.

Kalanchoe “Panda Plant”
It’s very soft to the touch and I like soft things, so I rescued this one, along with the drying Cat Paws from Lowes. Listen PEOPLE, WATER your succulents, not all of them can survive without water weeks at a time.

And visit one of the HI Stores in your neighborhood, save lives. 😉

I’ll think of the name for this one later. I’ll let it come to me in my dreams.

You know that Ralphs, when you head south on PCH from that park near the Pepperdine University. If you don’t, what’s wrong with you? Visit Malibu, will you?

Anyhow, 🙂 latest survivor..

I don’t know what it is, “Survivor” will do for now, but it was the driest of them all and I had to save it. I like the soft blueish gray silver colored leaves. It looks sort of antique to me. If you want to add that rustic look to your garden, I told you where to find them.

Shirley…, girl, you are a FLOWER. I’m sure you knew it all along.

I read somewhere Peonies won’t do well in California, meaning they won’t flower in zone 10, cause not enough “chill” hours in winter, well, WE’LL SEE ABOUT THAT, haters man…It’ll be interesting to watch, follow me on this journey with my peony. FOLLOW.

Jumbo “Shirley Temple” Peony

Looking like a cool colored mini tree somewhere in the Death Valley in this close up

Nearly every time I go down to the garden, I’m thinking nothing could have possibly changed from last night, and yet every single time it has a story to tell.

Have a great Day and if you have nothing to follow, follow the Imperfect!
