Ever tried digging yourself up from the grave?

I didn’t think so. Here are the basics.

Dig Yourself up from the Grave 101.

Be strong. Dying was not really dying, you are just dormant.

The DARKNESS you see when you wake up is just TEMPORARY. Remember that.

That is if you are strong.

Third, make sure you become a flower.

Never thought I’d see a dinosaur, but live and learn.

My plants assume things…a lot.

These bearded Irises and a 4 year old lemon grown from seed decided they don’t want to waste any time for unimportant things, like dormancy, collecting scattered thoughts and feelings, storing some energy, no, they are nothing short of succulents.

January 2022

I don’t cut off the dead or dying flowers of a plant, however it is normally advised. I want them to show just how resilient they are if kept imperfect, and they do every time. It is advised to cut off the dead flowers so the energy goes into the bulb/rhizome, which facilitates it’s growth.

But you, do as I do.

The Art of living and dying. Bearded Iris.

One good example of a succulent that comes out of dormancy in California “winter” is the Mimicry plant, or I call it the “Cat Paws”. The leaves of this plant feel exactly like cat paws. Pause

Have you touched your cat’s paw yet?

This flower remains closed during the night and early morning and opens up in the second part of the day for only a few hours and every minute is worth it.

Mimicry Plant active

This mimicry plant was dormant throughout last summer and didn’t appreciate much sun. It’s best to keep them in semi shade. It can be sensitive to excessive heat.

By the way,

You know the weed plant?

It’s EVERYwhere… It also does not appreciate when you try hard. So my advice to you:

Do not try Hard. Ever.

The last time I tried too hard, quite a few of them succumbed to love. And love kills, you know the drill.

BUT, here we are. My bare Pomegranate Tree (well, cause it’s winter and some plants don’t have a philosophical approach like Irises), myself and my weed plant sharing the pot with the pomegranate.

A WORD OF ADVICE,

Do not try to sprout an avocado Weed in a plastic cup with the toothpicks holding it.

Get some dirt, preferably mixed with mostly sand and pumice or perlite.

No need for the “organic matter”and wood chips or anything of that kind.

Throw the seed in the dirt. Cover with a bit more dirt.

Water.

And FORGET.

Please take a moment to appreciate my rustic garden friend.
