Whatever you wish to call it, graffiti, tagging…I call it all garbage.
Everyone understands the “experience of nature” differently but one remains firm in my mind and I will say it politely:
You should not be alive if you spray paint on “Just a rock, just a cliff, (just who cares) mountain side, just a stupid park, near just a waterfall, just a damn tree” and leave an ugly piece of blue or any other color garbage eloquence somewhere it does not belong.
“Sensitivity” is not in question here. There is zero problem with being sensitive in regards to fragile and beautiful things surrounding us, even out of self respect if you please.
I hear your “it’s just a rock” and my take is you see it as trash further to be defaced by your creativity DIARRHEA!?
HERE, Just food for thought, if you know what that means.
I see that rock or “just_____” fill in the gaps as one of the things nature yields to be admired. Personally, that rock/tree has rich color palette, unique texture, which inspires on many levels and I’m there to appreciate it and detach from everything “urban”.
When I am out hiking or exploring the shore, the caves and tide pools, I am there to enjoy respectfully.
Not the case for some, however. Chances are you aren’t one of them, but IF you are,
STAY AWAY from places you and your aesthetics do not fit, do not belong and certainly are not appreciated. I can only dream that you grow up one day and acquire some respect for your surroundings, not just yourself and your momentarily desires.
For the rest of you, thank you for respecting nature.
If you see some garbage graffiti in a natural setting, report it to your city officials. It costs $5 to leave garbage but it would cost you over $20K to remove it yourself without causing any further damage to “just a rock”.
I debated on whether I should include the garbage in this post or not. I think I need you to see and my apologies if it ruined your day.

Love&Respect.
Angeli.
