Who do not fail to impress.
“There is no fruit, without all the struggle”-Pineapple plant told me yesterday.
See this mess?

See the Pineapple? …
TRY HARDER!!!
I filmed it too, because it is important for you to fully understand the situation.
Supposedly Pineapple plants need sun and some tropical conditions to produce fruit.
What they do not tell you is
Forget about it, drop a pile of leaves on top of it and make sure to plant an Avocado and Orange tree in the same pot with it for success.
But Hey, I achieved the tropical conditions alright.
Its been sheltered by the Orange Tree and Avocado tree foliage (both grown from seeds). The pineapple top was an addition to a 20-in pot where the trees were. Talking about roommates.
The pot is placed on the south side of the garage wall and receives filtered sunlight. When I water the garden, I happen to water the wall behind the plants as well. The science behind this is the wall provides moisture for the plants during the hot summer days in LA. My pineapple decided he is in the Tropics.

Pineapples are grown from the pineapple tops. The top is placed in a pot filled with sandy mix. It will give roots and grow overtime. The shape of the pineapple leaves allows them to store water and other nutrients, which the plant consumes as needed. Water your pineapple from the top. The leaves and bird poop that fall on top of the plant provide extra nutrition. In a tropical environment it may provide fruit the 2nd year.
All the while…
