The Art of Beginning.

I think My Peach Tree knows better.

How important it is to just begin.

With NO expectations. Do you think it knows how much water it will get this summer? Or how strong the wind is going to blow? How hot it will be in August? Or how many insects decide to pretend they are just friends?

So this Spring, my advice is

Begin like my Peach Tree. Into the abyss.

Which was originally started from seed. Last summer I planted it in the ground along with the pot it was growing in. The cutouts were made along the sides of the pot for the roots to grow out of. The plastic pot may not be the safest solution against the gophers. IT IS NOT. But here it is, beginning…

Do you know how the dragonflies begin?

Me neither.

I did not.

SO I had to educate myself on whatever it was, beginning in my tiny pond. They spend most of their lives in the water.

Peonies require a large pot, if you decide to grow them in pots, and need slightly Acidic Soil. Once satisfied, you will see them, beginning.

Echinacea Cone Flower native perennial “beginning”. It was grown from seeds and keeps coming back every year. If you are trying to grow native perennial plants in pots make sure your soil does not contain any organic matter to decompose and rot the roots of your plants. Mix sand, charcoal, pumice, rice hulls (to make your pots lighter) add some peat moss to achieve the perfect environment for the roots. Experiment with the proportions.

Strawberries can grow in a sand box if you manage to keep it moist. The more sand you have for you strawberries, the bigger your plants will be, and this is how it begins.

The soul of a succulent is as delicate as it’s flowers. Here is Echeveria Species. Succulents like water, if grown in the right soil.

Can you keep a secret?

There is nothing easier than growing your wine.

GRAPES, GRAPES, CORRECT.

Go to the winery of your choice, when all the vines lost the leaves (beginning of winter, winter).

Buy a tasting and when no one can see you..

Pull out your shears.

You have about 5 seconds, to cut 6-in long pieces of vine. Drive home. 3-5 miles above the speed limit. Stick them in the ground, correct side down. Disclaimer. Be smart. Come on.

They will sprout and leaf out next spring. I guarantee you that.

Listen, LISTEN.

OR

Go to a reputable nursery and get the vine of your choice. You will do just fine.

And this is how it “begins”.

BEGIN.
